This project extends and redesigns a house in the Welwyn Garden City estate management area ( and during the planning process we had to negotiate the additional rules and requirements this brings, similar to gaining conservation area consent.
The proportions of the existing house are unusually wide but very shallow, and the proposed works try to remedy this.

The planned works add a two storey extension to the rear of the house. The ground floor plan is redesigned and focuses much more on the connection to the rear garden. At first floor level we are using the opportunity for the new bedroom to have a much greater ceiling height than elsewhere in the house.
